Today’s Artist Lineup:
Ugly Melon – Where did I go wrong?
Music and lyrics by Lu Cachie and Tony LaSelva
Where did I go wrong?’ is a song about regret. The protagonist in the song is facing a great loss. Having once believed, and now without any hope. While most listeners will come to the same conclusion; that the song is about a lost love. ‘Now you’re gone’ could also be referring to the loss of a family member, or close friend. When you lose someone that is important to you, there is a time of reflection where you analyze what you may have contributed to that person leaving. This song is about reflecting. Looking deep into your soul and searching for answers within. The only thing worse than having to face your own faults or mistakes is not knowing what those faults and mistakes are, or were. That pain is the pulse of ‘Where did I go wrong?’ There is no happy ending or revelation. Just sorrow. Because sometimes in life, that’s all there is. https://youtu.be/ipDwEBMf8X0

Graham Alexander – She’s a chameleon
Graham Alexander has been entertaining audiences of all ages with his infectious brand of original compositions. Growing up with an upbringing of a diverse palette of artists (including Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra & American folk music of the early 20th century, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and 2Pac Shakur), Graham never saw music as genre-based. He writes what strikes his mind as interesting rather than adhering to trends. His rebellion towards genre bending allowed him creative freedom. Effect Of A Different Color – “Water Bomb Swing Dance”
I wrote the song as I recorded it; I didn’t know what it was going to sound like before I recorded it, so it took me 5-6 days of very hard work to complete it. All I knew was that I wanted something experimental that tested and pushed my jazz skills a little, and something that makes you want to kick your feet or dance. Writing jazz is something relatively new to me and although I’ve written a couple of other jazz tunes and I wanted to write something new that stood out a little more. I’ve listened to several other jazz songs from various artists on Reverb Nation that make you want to move and I wanted to write something similar. A little while back I filled a punch-balloon all way the up with water and climbed a ladder onto my house roof and threw the balloon off to splat on the concrete to entertain my kids and I thought about grafting the song into a home video of that event.
