Join host Jacqueline Jax and Co-host Steve Minotti as they interview singer songwriter Bill Hartmann. Bill has been delighting audiences with his rich vocals and instrumental talent for over 30 years. He started playing a fender electric guitar at the tender age of nine in his home town of Mountaintop, Pennsylvania. For several years, he jammed with friends and performed in several local talent shows. In 1968, he wrote his first song and in 1973 he bought his first 12-string guitar, the perfect instrument for his talent.
In 1978, he established his first duo, Bill Hartmann and Dee. When Dee went off to college, he asked his wife Gloria to fill in with background vocals. Gloria remains his partner in life and on stage. Prior to relocating in 1991, Hartmann entertained audiences with his soft rock musicin Pennsylvania and upstate New York.
In October of 2011, Bill released his first CD, “Now and Then”. Like his musical inspiration, the late Harry Chapin, Hartmann writes songs to tell astory or evoke emotions. Often they are about life lessons as revealed in “You” and “Sorry”. Today, he enjoys the thriving musician’s community of South Florida where he plays at selected venues.
