The previous record was a mix of very different influences, going from acoustic ballads to stoner rock. In this New EP, I have consolidated these influences and the songs seem to fit together in a better way. The lyrics and the vocals have improved as well; I have found my singing voice.

Love. How you can give in to something you will regret for years just for a few seconds of pleasure. My music is influenced by the grunge and alternative scene of the early ’90s. Clear references to bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle or Queens Of The Stone Age are blended with a modern sound and production.

How do you think this release represents your current direction..
The previous record was a mix of very different influences, going from acoustic ballads to stoner rock. In this New EP, I have consolidated these influences and the songs seem to fit together in a better way. The lyrics and the vocals have improved as well; I have found my singing voice.

Creating the Music
I usually find the melody first on acoustic guitar. Lyrics come next. Once I have what I believe could be a chorus, verses and a bridge, I go to the studio and fix the structure of the song with my producer. He programs some drums and then we add the bass, the guitar tracks and the vocal are recorded last. Once the song is finished, I insist on having a real drummer replace the programmed drums track with real acoustic drums.

Doing it all..
It’s very difficult to combine your day job with your musical career. There are only 24h in a day and by definition, when you’re an independent artist, you have to do pretty much everything yourself or spend a lot of time finding the right people to do what you cannot do yourself, like graphic design in my case.

Best Advise…
A friend once told me “the only way to fail is to stop trying”.

I think this idea is especially true in the music industry because the competition is so big and you’re dealing with so much subjectivity that even if you’re convinced your work is good, you may be facing a lot of negativity.

I live in…
Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. Unfortunately, the market is very small here. It’s a small country and rock music is not as popular as in the US or UK. However, the little audience we have is very enthusiastic.
