I grew up in a family that loves music…
so I started singing and writing at a young age. I’ve always been drawn to old, traditional country, and that’s the music that has inspired me. I started playing guitar about 6 years ago and the rest is pretty much history.

Could Be…
is about the ongoing struggle between constantly searching for acceptance in impossible people and staying true to who you are. This song is really so special to me. When I was writing this song, I had one person who was constantly telling me who to be and what I should do with my life. This was a really monumental time for me, and it really helped shape me as an artist.

Honesty. My music is my heart and soul, and that’s what I’ve always tried to focus on. I want the music I produce to be real and relatable. With the release of my single, I hope to work towards funding a full album. As far as marketing goes, “Could Be” is available on ITunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play, IHeart Radio, Spotify, Rhapsody and all other major music sites. I’m from a small town in southeast Alabama…
but just in the last month moved to Houston, TX, so I’m not super familiar with the area. I’m proud to say that my home town of Dothan, AL is rich with a singer/ songwriter mentally. They may not be a huge town, but they support local musicians, and they have definitely supported me. Tell me about one fun thing you like to do that can be music or non-music related. I’m a new mom, so I love spending time with my 4 month old daughter, Spencer, and my fiancé, Blake. My family is so special to me & I cherish the free time I get with them.

Music business…
This business is really something else. It can be the most cutthroat, but also the most loyal. Some of my best friends are fellow musicians. I’m very proud to be apart of this industry. I would never be able to overcome the hurdles I’ve faced without my family and my amazing fans. I have the world’s best, most supportive people behind me that fuel e every single day.

Social media…
I love social media in its place. It allows me to connect with my fans around the world on such a personal level, and I think that is so important. It also really allows for genuine interaction and I love that.

Singles vs an album…
Personally, I feel that there’s a time and place for both. I love how releasing a single or two allow you to get your feet wet and really get a feel for the whole album before it releases. Then again, there’s nothing I love better than popping in my favorite John Mayer album (Inside Wants Out) and going for a long drive.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
Loretta Lynn. She’s the queen of country music! She has really influenced my music in how pure she is. She’s used the hard times in her life to write really amazing things. & I’d ask if we could sing “You Ain’t Woman Enough To Take My Man”.

Being current and trendy…
I feel like I have found a good balance. While its important to me to make music that my fans will enjoy, I’ve found that my fans enjoy music that I enjoy making.

I am most afraid of… Spiders. Definitely spiders.

Success to me is…
being able to make a difference in someone’s life. The day that “Could Be” released, one of my fans messaged me and told me how that song impacted her life. She didn’t feel alone anymore, and she had the courage to stand up to those trying to tear her down. I could not be prouder of that.

My goal is…
to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame alongside the artists that have influenced my life and my music.

3 Ways that I challenge myself…
1) Taking the time to write every single day. You never know when THAT sing is gonna come to you.
2) Being open to trying new things (I’m auditioning for The Voice in January)
3) Just never giving up. This industry is all about keeping the faith and keeping on keeping on.
