GETTING TO KNOW KING REYNOLDS
by Jacqueline Jax host of A.V.A Live Radio
Song name: Zero Dollars
Music Genre : Rap/ Hip-Hop
This is my 1st song where I am repetitively saying the same lyrics. This song is about the workforce. I have been mistreated at jobs due to racism, retaliation, discrimination, on the jobs. It’s the reason I quit so many jobs and could never make friends on the job. My background, personality, and culture is what threw people off who worked around me. I always liked to have fun at work, but when I was rushed, it caused me to feel angry. When the boss and co workers would always complain about me staying busy, I thought of lyrics to help others who can relate to what I experienced.
I plan on making a remix to Zero Dollars on my next album. I have been taking a break on making more music for now and focus on the promotion side, which is why my social media popularity is rising. We can expect new music with less profanity, because we live in a sensitive time today where it makes it difficult for my music to be heard. As a person and artist, I have to show growth. I am a Christian.
I’m born and raised in Toledo, Ohio…
My hometown is filled with poverty and gangs, so the economy is collapsing. You can buy houses in Toledo anywhere from $1,000-$10,000. I’m learning new things in life about other cities I’ve traveled. I graduated from college in Kentucky where I lived for 7 years. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English (Creative Writing) with a minor in theatre in December 2015. This is why I have to update my lyrics for Zero Dollars when I make the Remix. I now travel city to city and currently reside in the Seattle, Washington area.
How do you feel about the music business and what pros and cons have you experienced in the music thus far?: I have taken huge loss’s in sales. I spend more than I make in the music business, with only hopes that it pays off. I have sold T-Shirts, concert tickets, album sales, and earned money from music streams. Times has changed for the average struggling artist. “I Feel like the Rap game today is about only going so far to see really who wants it bad enough”. This has been my dream since I wrote my 1st song at 11 years old.
I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
Jay Z, because he outlived 2 Pac and Notorious B.I.G and began making music during their era’s. He’s now the richest rapper in the game. I can always use advice for a successful business man who’s humble at the same time like Jay Z. I was a huge Eminem and 2 Pac fan growing up, but as I got older I realized Jay Z was the most humble and wisest of them all. I like a lot of Jay Z music, such as “D’Evils, Can I live, Dirt off Your Shoulder, Run This Town, and Hard Knock Life”, just to name a few of his jams.
