GETTING TO KNOW LARINA DOREEN
by Jacqueline Jax host of A.V.A Live Radio
Song name: Charged
Music Genre/ category : Trap/R&B
Charged is about rising above how others view you and achieving your own perception. The entire process of the song Charged is full of creativity. It started when I got this melody in my head and I kept humming it, so I went into the studio with my brother Reginald (Mr. Perclivitive) who is an audio engineer/music producer and we got to work. I feel like this song is one that a lot of people can relate to because it explains the aspect of “haters” and what it feels like to have people copy you or even just copy your ideas. But the song speaks positivity and portrays a message of strength, it explains how these aspects can make you stronger so… your charged up.

This is my first project release so I am majorly glad to be sharing my music and stories I’ve worked on for months. I feel like each song tells its own story and Charged is just the third story, I release a new song from my project every month. When I think of my project in terms of what others might expect to hear on it, I’d like to say “expect the unexpected”. I only say this because my project is very diverse, which is something I personally love about it. I have some Pop music, R&B music, Trap music, and even some dance, so I like the fact that my music can be relatable to people who like fast music er even those who like slow music. The project shows my growth over a period of time because the songs were written months apart.
I’m from New York…
so the music scene is always major. Theres a lot of creativity like art, fashion and music everywhere. It’s great to be around such creative vibes.
I love being able to inspire others through my music an being able to entertain individuals and connect with them whether it be through comments on my social medias or even when I’m on stage, interacting with the audience is something I love to do. These are some Pros to the music business, always being able to help someone else by simply doing what you love. The one thing I think as an artist thats important is to never loose your creativity and never let the “business” become more important than the authenticity of doing what you love and the connection you have with it, the enjoyment you get from it.
I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
This question is a tricky one because there are so many people and great artists that I would love to meet or work with. One artist that I would love to spend 5 minutes alone with would have to be Tori Kelly. This is because I feel like we have similar styles of music and I think she is truly an authentic artist. She has worked hard to get to this successful point in her career I feel like she is an amazing vocalist as well as lyricist and could have great knowledge about the music business to share with me. I first truly began to love Tori Kelly’s music when I heard her song “Unbreakable Smile”, it was a song of positivity and I loved the fact that she spoke about herself as an artist and wasn’t afraid to say “Hey, this is me and I’m not going to change that”.
