“Paper Airplane was created after a life-changing bullying experience at school. I think by this experience that I learned a ton about myself and who I wanted to be. Music has let me become the person I want to be. I am able to share my deepest thoughts, experiences, and trials with complete strangers but they don’t realize how much they impact my life.” @MaddyVanceMusic
GETTING TO KNOW MADDY VANCE
By Jacqueline Jax– Host A.V.A Live Radio
At the age of 9, I began writing full length songs on the piano, but I know that my love of writing began even earlier than that! I recently found an old journal with hilarious songs and poetry that I had written pretty young with my older sister Sierra. By the age of 11, my lyrics and music writing became pretty developed for my young age. I started to play my songs for my family and friends, so it encouraged me to keep writing. It quickly grew into not just a hobby but a passion. I also at 11 was diagnosed with a minor heart condition where I was needing to be at home a lot, and so my music really started helping me in so many ways and began to be somewhat of a therapy for me. Soon enough, I taught myself how to play the guitar, and kept falling in love with writing music everyday.
was created after a life-changing bullying experience at school. I think by this experience that I learned a ton about myself and who I wanted to be. I came home and was inspired to get out all my feelings on paper, about wanting to be somewhere else. It turned into a song that I felt so strongly about other people listening to and remind them that its okay to want to be somewhere else – It’s all part of life. I had the amazing team from Royal Fire Music, Kyle Wesley and David Batt, help me finish this anthem and they brought it to life, producing the song, and also creating the music video. I created a line of jewelry with Paper Airplane charms, available on Etsy at Jules Vance Jewels, where my fans can be reminded of the song and message. (Shop Jewelry)
Sunny Southern California….
And there are lots of places to perform and explore here, it is all a matter of getting out there and sharing your music. I am only 15 years old, so I spend most of my days as a 10th grader, and also on swim team, but I still try to perform any where that I can to get experience and exposure.
it is hard to not compare yourself to others. But, I have learned that it is not about the numbers, it is about what message you want to spread, and expressing yourself with each post.
Standing up against Bullying…
I was inspired to be able to give-back to other kids my age, who are struggling with bullying, or just fitting in. It is important for me to let others know that we are all unique, and whatever you are going through now, will get better over time.
Music has let me become the person I want to be. I am able to share my deepest thoughts, experiences, and trials with complete strangers but they don’t realize how much they impact my life. I have been able to meet other kids who listen to my music and we find ways to relate to each other and support one another. Collaborating with other artists is also something else I am doing & is super fun! I am able to grow from their experiences and skills as musicians. I have met some amazing other musicians and producers over the past few years, that have been really inspirational to my own music.

At the age of 11 she was diagnosed with a heart condition called SVT, that at times became very debilitating. During her early days with this condition, she began to use the piano, music, and writing music as part of her therapy. Over the years, music has been the saving grace when it has come to her heart. She has learned to use her skills to comfort and control her condition. Music has been a lifesaver for Maddy!
