original alternative folk rock band with eSonny Masicampo and Scott Alexander McTaggart.

Longing…
Music has been my passion and dream as a child. Growing up, I admired artists/bands that write great songs. However, my dream has been set aside due to family responsibility. I do however learned music on my own, enjoyed and played whenever I could. Got together and jam with friends on my spare time and became an avid fan. It is just in the last few years that I’ve decided it’s time to fulfill this dream and start writing. I wrote Longing while alone at night wondering and reflecting about this dream. Will I make it in this point in time? What more can I do. Will someone listen and understand. Do I belong? What kind of journey is this going to be?
Longing started as a simple folk song. However, with Scott’s rendition of dynamic percussion and Johan’s unique bass line approach, the song became sort of like an alternative folk rock as we performed it live and eventually recorded.

The Album…
Breaking Zora is an album that tells stories about one’s true personal experiences and struggles. At times a plea to be heard, understood and accepted. Another instance is to show affection and love for someone that stood beside you for the long haul and remembering the good times. The album reminds us that we should value and not take for granted what we already have and true friendship is paramount. It brings you back in a place lost in time that for many remains great memories. It is a reminder to be cautious as there’s always someone out there that could break your heart.

Aurora Colorado..
which is part of the Metro Denver area – We have an awesome music scene here where people are very passionate about music in every sense of the way. One can easily feel this vibe after seeing insane turnout on various music festivals that’s happening here all year round and on great venues to see their favorite bands. There’s so much talent and great bands out here from different genre. No shortage of recording studios and experts in the field of music. There are so many places and great venues to check out such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Paramount Theatre, The Roxy Theatre, The Summit Music Hall, Herman’s Hideaway, Cervantes, Bluebird, The Fillmore, The Ogden, The Gothic Theatre and Larimer Lounge to name a few.

Music business…
There are many opportunities out there specially on the internet and social media where musicians can be heard. So many platform that can help musicians succeed. Even on the local scene, like here in Colorado we’ve seen many hometown bands that made it big such as The Fray, Lumineers, Flobots, Tickle Me Pink and One Republic to name a few. I think it’s because of the help from experienced agents, producers, promoters and local radio stations. However, the business is very complicated and frustrating. Finding gigs, playing in key venues and music festivals are very hard. Despite talent and good music, it is I think always a struggle to find the right connection or how much one is willing to pay promoters, agents, or brokers. Finding funds for recordings and the right studios is difficult.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with….
Dave Grohl. I mean why not. From Nirvana to the Foo Fighters this dude should be an excellent source of information about the music business and how to be successful. He could be one of the best drummer in the world and who would have thought then that he’s a great singer songwriter and a band leader as well. For someone that claimed to be a high school drop out? That is insane. I have so much respect for this guy. My music idol and inspiration.
