Steve Hester’s Waterside Inspiration

Reflecting about life and searching for God.  I was inspired to write Waterside because of my love for the Delta Blues and the acoustic style of the originals. Also my love for God and my long search back to Him.

My music is…
Multi Genre from Country to Blues to Gospel to Southern Rock.

Song name: Waterside “Outlaw Edition”
Genre:: Gospel Blues/Outlaw Country

Reflecting about life and searching for God.  I was inspired to write Waterside because of my love for the Delta Blues and the acoustic style of the originals. Also my love for God and my long search back to Him.

I have been singing since I was 6 and playing Bass since I was 11. I started playing Harp at 41. The music has always been a big part of my life, even when I took a break to raise my 3 children, I couldn’t go to church, a club or a concert and not want to be on stage. All my Classmates thought I would be a Rock Star.
Several things inspire me to write, sometimes it is a real experience or just a thought. The music business as a whole is pretty tough, but I love it!
Still on my music Bucket List…
is a hit song!
Success to me is…
a job well done and the notariety and accolades that go along with it! My most recent success is signing with Bongoboy records to put Waterside “Outlaw Edition” on their Gospel Blues Album.
What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking…
Be yourself! That advice came from a long time friend and musician Doug Adams at a time that I was struggling for a musical identity.
I live in…
Little Rock Arkansas, The music scene here is spotty and iffy at best. However there are alot of GREAT musicians….
