“I’ve learned that there are a lot of great artists out there but at the same time I make sure I know that the music industry to me is not about competition, it’s not about who’s better but who’s good enough. Everyone’s special in there own way… ” Scarlett Lee
– What is your experience with negative energy?
I take any criticism on board and hope to learn from it as well as compliments & I also hope I can be better from It, I always go with what I thinks best at the time and hope I’ve made the right decisions.
– How do you remove the monetary value as a means of influence over or judgement of your art?
If people are not happy with paying the £2 something then I tell them they can go to YouTube to listen to me instead of paying like I said before I respect there curiosity.
– Do you find that there is to much emphasis on the current market or Is there a balance that you have found helpful in your artistic
I wouldn’t really know as I have a producer Called Aleks Zen that I have been working with for a while now he is great. He gets me and I love what he does he’s really talented and whatever ideas I come up with me Makes happen, so in a way I’m comfortable with him, but there I’m sure there loads of great producers that I’d like to work with so I guess I would be spoiled for choice.
– Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?
My dream goal would to be to sell out the O2 arena & have my CD’s on shelves but in 5 years with a lot of hard work you never know.
– Have you ever stepped back to look at the bigger picture of who you are and where you fit in this world?
Yes I do stand back and see where I fit in in this world and also try to make my music unique and I also want other people to stand back and know who I am and where I stand in the world to. I’ve discovered that I have to stay open to a lot of things and make my self realize that I can be at least 10% better each day with a lot of hard work. I’ve learned to always be the best I can be. I’ve learned that there are a lot of great artists out there but at the same time I make sure I know that the music industry to me is not about competition, it’s not about who’s better but who’s good enough. Everyone’s special in there own way and I’ve learned that that’s something I’ve always got to keep in mind.
– How do you handle conflict in your life?
Well I’m lucky I’ve never really gone through a conflict but there has been times where I’ve had people say “why do we have to buy her EP on iTunes why can’t we listen to her for free” & I’ve always wrote back saying “Sorry I understand but if you would like to listen to me I’m on YouTube where you can hear for free then I’d really appreciate it”I guess I’ve always made it into the right thing and never let it just settle as conflict always took it as people’s curiosity and I have no problem with that.
– Do you feel that there is anything that prevents you from living up to your full potential?
No, I personally don’t think there is anything that could stop me living up to my full potential as I work very hard at all times if you don’t give hard work no one will reach their goal.
– What is your personal definition of success?
I think every little thing I achieve is A big success for me, but there are also big dreams that I would love to succeed but again if I put in a lot of hard work it may come true.
– Do you feel that you have limits to what you can do and achieve?
I don’t personally say there are limits to what I can achieve as I write one song one day and think it’s my best song. Then the next day, I’ll write another one and I’ll say the same thing. It’s also the same with Gigs. I’ll go to one gig and say wow that was one of the best gigs I’ve done but then maybe the next day I’ll have another gig and I’ll say the same thing, in a way I hope I don’t have any limits to what I can achieve as there are obstacles you have to over come.
