Blindsided is about finding love in unexpected places and how sometimes the right person can be right under your nose without you realizing it. It happened to me, who knows, it could happen to you too.

My music is quite personal to me as I use a lot of my own experiences to create it. I don’t really think I have one particular genre I fit into as my songs tend to be a mixture of Pop, Country and Dance. I tend to write whatever I feel so its difficult to say I’m heading in one particular musical direction.

Both of the songs I have released recently have been similar in direction as they both have a bit of a country undertone mixed with a pop vibe. I definitely like the direction these have gone in as I have had some great feedback from fans and radio stations, so I feel like I’m doing the right things. However, I am a huge fan of dance music so the next one is probably more in that vein although it is still fairly pop led too. Id love this to be a big nightclub hit.
My process is always lead by the lyrics. I tend to get an idea in my head, start creating lyrics and then the tune comes as I’m working on them. Once I have the bones of the song I have a close friend who is a musician and he does a session with me in order to get chord structures ready for the producer to work with in the studio.

I always know where I want things to go so we have a lot of discussions about this prior to anything being recorded. I have been working with the same producer on the current tracks, my next single and my forthcoming album. It really works for me as he gets me and does what I ask even if he doesn’t always agree on my direction.

I have amazing friends and family so I spend a lot of time with them as they keep me grounded and constantly remind me of the important things in life. I have to work as I’m self funding everything, but the dream is that one day music will pay the bills, this thought keeps me motivated and focused. I feel like I have a great balance of music, family, friends and work and I feel immensely lucky that I have all of this in my life, I know not everyone has that.

The best music advice is:

It’s never too late.  I have left my song writing career till much later than some other writers. I have been a singer for as long as I can remember, but the writing side is a much newer concept to me.

A friend of mine encouraged me to turn my scribblings into songs. He told me to be confident in my ability, so I followed his advice and as they say the rest is history. I’m so happy I took the plunge. I am thrilled with the results I have been achieving and I’m really excited about all of the new material I am working on.

I live in South Yorkshire in the UK.
The music scene is really eclectic here, there are so many live music venues, everything from Jazz to rock and pop. We have a huge range of summer music festivals all over the area and there are some larger festivals that feature some really well known artists. These are really popular and draw huge audiences. If you want live music there is always somewhere to go to see and hear it.
