Music called to me…
It was something I knew I needed to do, and once I finally got the courage to find out what I needed to do, I took the necessary steps to make it happen. Making tons of mistakes and fumbling around at first I made it here.

Never Wanna Leave…
The song is about the feeling of new love. How you feel when you find the right person, you just never wanna leave. There are two songs that inspired it, one is a Britney Spears songs and the other is a very famous song from the 80’s. I won’t reveal much more and I hope that people can catch on the songs. 😉

I’m a hopeless romantic so I wanted to give people that feeling. I suppose the back story is that I wanted to convey that very happy feeling. Not on this one… It was a pretty straight through process. It was fun to record, though…

The title of my latest album is…
‘Feels So Good’ and most of the songs on there are about things we can celebrate in life. Although some of the songs are not necessarily feel good, in my mind, we can also celebrate the lows in order to build from them. So, I think I wanted to celebrate life, even when it seems as though there is nothing to celebrate. Seems to me that’s when we find significance.

Silicon Valley, San Jose, California…
I live in the in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose, CA. We’re part of the San Francisco Bay Area, and there is such an eclectic music scene here. One of the best places to visit in San Jose is Santana Row, but you could find almost anything in this area. From the beach, to fine dining, helicopter rides, surf-and-turf! It’s literally all no more than an hour away.

Tell me about one fun thing you like to do that can be music or non-music related.

I really enjoy going on trips to nowhere. Basically, I don’t choose a destination and explore. It has lead to some pretty awesome memories. I also enjoy jogging.

Music business…
Depends on when you ask me. Sometimes very happy and sometimes overwhelmed. Challenging definitely, but the highs can be amazing!

Pros and cons…
Pros, receiving messages from people who tell you that your music has made a difference in their lives. Cons, anyone on social media has been the victim of opinionated people and I’m no exception. Although, I have been getting better at ignoring it. LOL

Hurdles and pitfalls…
I try to stay focused on the overall picture and readily remind myself that one bad event (whatever it may be) doesn’t have to define me or my music. It’s always best to move on.

I live by this philosophy…
– Good things happen, celebrate and move on.
– Bad things happen, learn grown and move on.
– But always keep on moving.

Social media…
The instant interaction with all sorts of people. It’s like making friends everyday and keeping in touch with old ones all the time.

Challenges that you’ve had to overcome…
OH YES! All the time, and just when I seem to get the hang of the last challenge, a new one pops up. I just take that as a sign of progress.

Singles vs an album…
I love releasing in bulk. I think it tells a bigger story.
Talk about the differences in your marketing strategy to support your preference.
I pick and chose the single that seems the strongest, make a video, shop it out, and then go with that.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
Probably someone like Madonna. What she has been able to do is beyond impressive.

Emphasis on being current and trendy…
I don’t go for trendy, unless there is a fresh sound that appeals to me. However, I like to think that trendy is like a b-b gun… Sure, it can shock, but it does not have the lasting impact of real weapon.

I am most afraid of…
Stopping.

My personal definition of success is..
Letting go of unnecessary baggage and being happy in the here and now.

My over all goal for my life & career is…
Giving back and inspiring others.

3 Ways that I challenge myself…

1) Always looking for opportunities to give back. Challenge myself, and create more than I think I can handle.

2) I challenge myself, by creating more than I think I can handle. Most of the time it works out.

3) Goal setting. You’d be surprised how energizing this can be and how it can transform and motivate you.

BIO:

Xavier Toscano believes that pop music is the soundtrack to our lives. It etches powerful memories in our minds. When you hear a song from your past, it immediately takes you back. Faded, sepia-toned memories rush in with a colorful pop. When you hear a great pop song on that road trip or at that school dance or that time just hanging with friends, you know it’s going to be a memory that lasts forever. That is why Xavier loves pop music so much. That is the power he hopes to infuse into his songs.
