I am a quirky thing that loves organization and processes. So much so that I am building a brand around it. Teaching women how to live their very best life on purpose fires me UP. It’s all I can think about. You could say that what I teach would be geared towards other online girl bosses and soloprenuers, but I think the concepts can be applied anywhere. I even have a post on “batching” cleaning so you only have to do it an hour a week once the systems are in place, which is where the “lazy” comes from. I truly believe given the right tools, everyone can live life on their own terms. I keep it real and don’t try to pretend to have it altogether. My podcasts are raw and unedited (which may hurt me but I don’t care). If it doesn’t feel real or like it’s coming from a genuine place, I don’t do it or say it. I try to bring a decent level of awkward humor and sass to everything I do because that’s just how I am. It’s hard not to be when your current day job is in IT.
I’m currently offering my masterclass for free because I just want to get the message out there and create a community around what I do. People first, the rest will come later. I hope to hear from you soon! http://www.thelazychick.org/batching-workshop
I’m on a mission…
to help women who feel like they were meant for more and want to grow their business online get some direction, get answers to the details most online courses are lacking AND get their mindset right. It all starts in how we think.
I got started about 5 years ago…
when blogging first came on the scene. I was in a soul crushing cubicle job and the idea of blogging just looked cool. As I’ve moved through my 7 year corporate career, I couldn’t let the blog thing go. The idea of being my own boss and living life on my own terms just intoxicated me. I started really researching it and learning everything I could. I was obsessed with learning everything I would need to know to escape being a cube dweller and start doing my own thing. Fast forward about 2 years and I was in a horrible state health wise, both mental and physical. That’s when the mindset and living intentionally obsession started. Combine the two and out pops The Lazy Chick! Intentional Living and helping create a clear path by filling in the gaps for other women entrepreneurs just fires me up!
I have a Facebook Page and Private Group where I share information, but I also go live there to connect. I have an Instagram and that is turning into my mini visual blog thing. I typically get a little more personal, I’m a real live human being. Come see me pull back the “veil”.
Twitter is where I cultivate information. It’s like my mini library. I also host a bi-weekly twitter chat (#TLCchat) for female go getters.
Pinterest is another place where I just cultivate information. I LOVE to share so when I try something, I actually mark it as “tried” and will write my thoughts on it.
Soundcloud is where my podcast is currently being hosted, but I’m planning to move that to iTunes soon.
My email list is where it’s at. I send my subscribers a weekly newsletter and it’s pretty much just full of stuff I recommend, am using at the moment, thought was cool, that sort of thing. I also send subscriber only bonuses too. I’m raw and unfiltered so anything that’s a recording of me is exactly that. What you see is what you get with me. I don’t try to pretend to be someone I’m not and I feel like that raw honesty really drives home what I teach, because I’m teaching from experience. I’ve literally been there and done that.
Right now it’s a side hustle that I’m working to build from the ground up. I want it to be my full time thing. The way I balance it used to really be hard but now that I’ve worked out the kinks, I have a life 🙂 My husband is EXTREMELY supportive. He’s also my test dummy. I have a schedule of non negotiable things that must be done each day to keep the ball rolling and typically one day out of the weekend is 100% dedicated to my business. I’m obsessed with it so where others listen to music all day or spend their lunch hour shopping, I’m listening to a podcast or fixing a worksheet. It’s my passion so that’s where my free time is spent. Because I’ve stayed so dedicated and have systems in place I still live a really full life. My family lives out of state so practically every other weekend my husband and I are on the road back home. I call myself the lazy chick because I have mastered getting shit done in less time than most so I can get what I want and still have PLENTY of time for what’s most important. Like wine and my dogs.
Success for me is…
waking up knowing that I am 100% in control of my life. That my bills are paid and that what I’m creating is helping other women to move forward with their dreams because I can fill in the gaps and that they are no longer in a sh*t mindset.
