JAMESBROWNSHON on No Justice, No Peace.

It’s not easy to stay focused or productive, especially after a long day of working and taking care of your daily responsibilities. But if it’s something you want bad enough, you’ll find time to make it happen. There’s always something that can be done, and there will never be enough time in the day, so you need to take every second that you’re given and hopefully make the most of the time that you’re given.

Band Name: JAMESBROWNSHON!!

Song name: “No Justice, No Peace.”

Music Genre:: Metal

The song describes a story of a series of events that lead to the destruction of a city for the unjustified death of one of it’s people by the hands of law enforcement. A city and it’s people that were pushed to its breaking point by a system that is meant to protect and serve them.

My music is…
With the ever growing list of subgenres in metal and all the different influences that go into it, it’s hard to really give my music one exact genre or style other than metal.

How do you think this release represents your current direction..
 “No Justice, No Peace” is a solid foundation for what people should be expecting for the future music that I’ll be writing and recording. Heavy but melodic, thrashing but groovy, adrenaline pumping and emotionally driven metal that makes you feel something when you listen to it.

Where do you create your music..
“No Justice, No Peace” was recorded in Cleveland, Ohio at Studio D Productions, but all my current and upcoming music is being written and recorded in a home studio that I’m currently working on putting together with my long time friend, business partner, sound engineer, and producer Jeremy Stimpert.

How do you stay focused and balance creating with life..

What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking..
One piece of advice that’s really stuck with me over the years is that if you’re waiting until you’re finally “ready” to do something, then it’s never going to happen. You’re never going to be 100% fully ready to do something. You’re always going to have that voice of doubt in the back of your head saying “you’re not ready yet,” and sometimes you’re not, but you’ll never know if you truly are ready or not unless you try. Failure is part of the process, and some times you need that failure to help push you in the right direction.

I live in…
a small town called Sardis, located in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and the music scene is far from thriving. In the past handful of years I’ve seen the music scene go from local and bigger shows almost every week, and they always had new and upcoming bands to check out. Now that a lot of local music venues have been forced to shut down, you’re lucky to see a decent show once a month, and it’s usually the same names over and over at the same venues. But just because there’s not a lot of places to play and enjoy live music where I live, doesn’t mean that it can’t be written, recorded, and shared with the rest of the world.
