I cannot express how valuable time management skills have become, but more than anything – I love what I do. I believe in the music I write and songs I sing. I value my education and know that my path can inspire so many others on their own journeys. So for me it is all worth it.

An unprecedented fusion between jazzy soul and hip hop. My lyrics represent an embodiment of female empowerment and endless possibilities. I write from heart and evoke emotion we have all felt throughout our lives: pain, happiness, fear and most importantly – love.

I also hope that my musical journey can show that it doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 35, if you never give up on your dreams and work harder than you ever knew you could – you can attain your dreams and make them a reality!

How do you think this release represents your current direction:
I think it is an excellent “first draft” of sorts. It shows where I was as a songwriter and vocalist in 2016 (although I released in 2017) and it really shows the funky direction we have chosen to embark. Think of me as a fusion of Ms. Badu and Ms. Winehouse with a New Orleans jazz, soul and hip hop twist.
Where do you create your music?
Sometimes the studio with my producer. The acclaimed and multi platinum selling producer Carlos Stephens. Other times, on the bedroom floor with headphones and a note book and whatever comes out! It really does vary depending on the vibe and inspiration that flows!
How do you stay focused and balance creating with life:
It’s truly a juggling act. I am an attorney. I juggle a full time consulting career. I am a wife, a mother to two beautiful doggies and I own my own label and manage the entire side of the music business in addition to being the artist and songwriter of “Mena Fall.”

I cannot express how valuable time management skills have become, but more than anything – I love what I do. I believe in the music I write and songs I sing. I value my education and know that my path can inspire so many others on their own journeys. So for me it is all worth it.

What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking? Be vulnerable.
I live in New Orleans, LA – the music scene here is very vibrant and alive.  I think that my music embodies the melting pot of music in New Orleans.
