This is a Christmas carol that I hope becomes something people will sing every year.
It’s for people who like the traditional Christmas sounds, but also need to hear something new around the holidays. I was inspired to write a tune could become timeless, but for right now, it is still brand new to the public. I wrote “Raise Your Glass” after the success I had with the sound of my song, “Remember When.” I felt a need to write a similar airy and angelic type Christmas song as a way to draw people to my work every year it plays. I am hoping people might confuse this for a Christmas standard that they really can’t put their finger on. Just like any Christmas standard, I know it will have people humming or even caroling around. I would love to hear this song sung by a caroling choir.

Christmas Carol

I was inspired by social awkwardness of all things.
I was asked to toast once and I felt like Ben Steller’s character in ” Meet the Parents” during the scene where he offers memorized lyrics to a song as a family prayer. Then it hit me that I must not be the only one who looks around at a group of strangers at a Christmas Party and feels out of place offering a toast to people who have no link to each other expect for the party. This song fits that need to toast a large group with words and a catchy tune all people can repeat and feel drawn together by the spirit of the holidays.

I would love to make a music video with this theme,
an award party filled with the awkward gift exchange, ugly holiday sweaters, and too many people who decided to bring napkins to the pot-luck. I will zoom in on a sparse table filled with decorative napkins and have someone raise their glass-like, ” at least there are drinks.” Then my song would start. I feel since I plan to sing this song every Christmas and New Years that a music video for it will happen eventually. I’d advise fans to look out for it!

So many new opportunities have come as a result of my radio play on A.V.A Live Radio,
I’ve been featured in San Antonio Monthly Magazine (in my home town) and scouted by a record label in London. A popular Latin music and pop producer who has worked with major acts like Bruno Mars has contacted me to work together with hopes we can shoot for a Latin Grammy. My song ” Until We Meet Again” was picked up and played on an F.M. station in Sacramento California. There is always something happening, and new doors are always opening even in other areas as a result of being featured I am being asked to sing during the fashion shows I’m featuring my fashion designs in! The photos below are of a fashion design I originally displayed during my live stream interview with Jaqueline Jax earlier in the year. Since, it has been selected to be a cover dress for an exclusive fashion project modeled by international beauty queen, and owner of a high-fashion dress line “Bonita,” Lorena Hernandez Monroe. I know that the next step for now, is finishing my album, but I can’t control these unexpected opportunities coming out of the woodwork as a result of the exposure.

Success to me is when a fan writes to me. I’ve received many messages.
Many people have taken a time-out to let me know random stuff things: I helped them heal, I have an angelic voice, or they wish me the best in my singing career. Those messages are special to me. It means that I am truly impacting someone out there. As an artist that’s the bottom line, I moved someone and made them feel a connection to my work that goes beyond catchy tunes.

I feel that this song and even some of my work about unrequited love
has to do with moments where I wanted to express myself better than I did in actuality. I feel that dwelling isn’t productive, but maybe if I write a song I can’t at least capitalize on the angst and frustration that stays with us after a blooper. This song lyrics actually give instructions to forget all those instances that distract from enjoying the moment and just be present.

I live in San Antonio, Texas. There is so much music and magic around this time of the year.
The Tejano Music Awards just happened, the Riverwalk (a feature attraction) is filled with lights. I used to be in a middle school choir that would perform in malls and hotels, so there is a lot of that too. Music and shopping at La Cantera…if I go on the mayor of San Antonio might send me a letter of thanks for talking up this town, but all kidding aside, it is magical at Christmas here. People in San Antonio are very considerate, we have ” Blue Santa ” toy drives where the local police collect toys and it kinda reminds people that police, military, everyone here, works to make a stronger community by doing these sorts of things. It’s a good time of year to visit San Antonio!
